We provide following services under occupational therapy:

Sensory integration therapy

Sensory integration therapy organizes sensation from one’s own body and from the environment and makes it possible to use the body effectively within the environment. It involves activities that are believed to organize the sensory system by providing vestibular, proprioceptive, auditory and tactile inputs.

Neurodevelopmental therapy

NDT a problem-solving approach is commonly used in treating movement dysfunctions in children with CNS disorders. NDT focuses on enhancing the sensation of movement through the internal and external sensory feedback mechanisms through a motivating functional play therapy which makes the child an active participant in therapy.

Developmental therapy

Paediatric developmental therapy is a specialty that deals with the wide variety of diagnoses that may affect your child's overall development from 0 to 13 years of age. Depending on the age, disability, and setting, the role of the paediatric developmental therapist differs greatly. However, the primary role that the paediatric developmental therapist assumes is to be an advocate for you and your child

Cognitive skills enhancement

An OT can address executive functioning skills such as attention, organization, initiation, sequencing, and memory to improve academic performance and ability to complete daily routines more independently.

Pre writing /Handwriting skills

Pre-writing skills are essential for the child to be able to develop the ability to hold and move a pencil fluently and effectively and therefore produce legible writing. When these skills are underdeveloped, it can lead to frustration and resistance due to the child not being able to produce legible writing or to ‘keep up’ in class due to fatigue. This can then result in poor self-esteem and academic performance.

Visual Motor & Visual Perception

Visual perceptual skills enable a child to make sense of and interpret what they are seeing. Visual motor skills enable a child to coordinate their eyes and hands to draw and write. Children may have difficulty with copying shapes, handwriting, lining up math problems, etc.

Motor planning skills

Motor planning is part of a group of skills that help us move our body the way we want to. This includes the upper limbs and hands (fine motor), body (gross motor), mouth and tongue movements (oral-motor), and/or eyes (oculomotor). These skills are used in everyday tasks from brushing teeth and washing hands to skipping and kicking or catching a ball. Motor planning refers to the ability to conceive, plan, and carry out a skilled, non-habitual motor act in the correct sequence from beginning to end. It relies on sensory feedback from the body and the environment as well as on language, memory and cognitive or thinking skills.

Activities of daily living skills or self-help skills

Activities of daily living are those important routine activities such as feeding, dressing, and grooming. An OT can help your child complete daily living routines with increased independence.
